Visit New Hampshire: Puritan Ice Cream

After dinner at the Puritan Backroom Restaurant, we decided to eat ice cream at the Puritan Takeout & Ice Cream store in front of the building.

Yes, we could've eaten ice cream at the restaurant, but the server said it was cheaper at the Takeout shop, and there were kiddie sizes there as well, which the restaurant didn't offer.

Golden OREO

Mint OREO

Fudge Ripple

Strawberry

Chocolate Fudge Brownie
I had the Golden OREO ice cream.  I love Golden OREOs, and this ice cream was absolutely delicious, with chunks of Golden OREOs throughout the creamy ice cream.

Serving sizes are huge (I couldn't finish a small size).

It was some of the best ice cream I've had - ever.

Everyone loved the flavors they chose.

Puritan Ice Cream is a must-visit if you're in the area and love ice cream!

Visit New Hampshire: Puritan Backroom Restaurant

One of the things I love about social media is that when you're traveling, people who live or have grown up in the places you're visiting will eagerly share their favorite places to go.  Such was the case when I posted a photo on Instagram while I was in New Hampshire, and @meggie67 recommended the Puritan Backroom as a place to dine.

When we arrived at the location, we had a little difficulty finding the restaurant.  There is actually a take-out / ice cream shop in the front, and the Puritan Backroom Restaurant is literally in the back.

Complimentary Pita and Rolls

Barbecue Burger

Chicken Tender Wrap

Kids Macaroni and Cheese with Alphabet Fries

The Puritan Backroom is known for their chicken tenders, so I ended up getting a Chicken Tender Wrap.  It really was good - the chicken tenders were full of flavor!

Kids meals are very reasonably-priced.  My kids loved the Alphabet Fries!

Service was great, and we all enjoyed our meals.

If you're looking for a family-friendly restaurant to dine at while in New Hampshire, be sure to visit the Puritan Backroom, and don't forget to try the chicken tenders!

Visit New Hampshire: Blake's Restaurant

While in New Hampshire, we dined at family-friendly eatery Blake's Restaurant, primarily because they are known for their housemade ice cream!

Wiesies Cheesy Fries

Kids Combo Meal

Kids Mac 'N Cheese

Blake's Special Burger

Grilled Cheddar Cheese with Bacon

I have a thing for Waffle Fries, so I couldn't resist ordering the Wiesies Cheesy Fries. Seasoned waffle fries were topped with melted cheddar, bacon bits, jalapenos, and sour cream. It was hard not to share!

For my dinner I decided to order the Grilled Cheddar Cheese with Bacon - something simple since I knew I would be indulging in a lot of waffle fries. It was so yummy!

The Blake's Special Burger was topped with cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Kids Meals are very reasonably priced - nothing over $5. The Combo Meal consists of Mac 'N Cheese and a Hot Dog.

Even though we were all pretty stuffed from dinner, we made sure to leave room for dessert!
Cookie Jar

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Moose Tracks

Chocolate Cookie Monster

Cotton Candy
The ice cream was delish!  Definitely some of the best ice cream we've had anywhere (and we've tried a lot!).

Service was a little on the slow side, but our server was very friendly.

If you're in New Hampshire and looking for some comfort food favorites, ice cream, or both, check out Blake's Restaurant!

Visit New Hampshire: Hampton Inn & Suites Manchester-Bedford

After having such a great first experience at a Hampton by Hilton property during the first half of our New England road trip, I was eager to stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Manchester-Bedford while in New Hampshire for the second half of our road trip.

Upon arriving in the clean and cozy lobby, we were promptly checked in, and then we made our way to our 2 Queen Beds room.

The nicely-sized room was decorated in warm and soothing tones, with updated furnishings and plenty of charging stations and outlets to plug in our tech.

The room included two comfy queen size Clean and Fresh Hampton Beds, a large work desk, a 37-inch flat screen TV, a mini fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, a table, and two ottomans that provided additional seating.

The bathroom was a good size, however, the sliding door for the bathroom did not always stay closed, so it was just a matter of pulling it closed until it didn't move.

I appreciated that a variety of bath amenities were offered, including mouth wash, shower gel, and a makeup remover towelette!
Free Wi-Fi is one of the standard amenities at Hampton by Hilton properties, along with complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby, and a complimentary hot breakfast.

Fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, DIY waffles, and a couple of rotating hot dishes fueled us up each morning.

On the Run breakfast bags are available for those who don't have time to sit down for a hot meal (Monday through Friday only).
Other amenities and services include a convenience store, laundry facility, business center, and complimentary shuttle to/from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

For the first time during our family's travels, we did laundry on a trip.  Having a washer and dryer on property (and a convenience store to buy laundry detergent from) enabled us to pack a lot less clothes than if we didn't have easy access to a washer and dryer.
Service was good throughout our stay, and we had another great experience at a Hampton by Hilton property!
