Visit Tokyo: Tonkatsu Wako

A friend who was with us on our trip to Tokyo recommended Tonkatsu Wako while we were in Odaiba (I was wondering why the place sounded familiar, and it's because Nadia went there in Shibuya!).

Located in Aqua City Odaiba, Tonkatsu Wako specializes in Breaded Pork Cutlet.

Hire Rosu Moriawase Gohan - 2 bite-size pork fillet cutlets, pork loin cutlet

Aoi - Bite-size Pork Fillet Cutlet, Fried Shrimp, Chicken Cutlet with Plum and Perilla

Azami - Pork Cutlet Rolled with Cheese and Perilla, Fried Shrimp, Crab Croquette

I had the Hirekatsu-Nabe Gohan.  It was a huge bowl of cheesy Pork Fillet Cutlet, and rice was served separately.  The Tonkatsu was tasty, and the pork was tender.

Depending on what you order, you'll get custard soup, miso soup, and/or a small salad.

You really get a lot of food, no matter what you order.

Kids' meals are huge too.

Each child gets a complimentary toy or two snacks!

There are several Tonkatsu Wako locations around Tokyo, so check one out if you love tonkatsu!

Visit Tokyo: Tsukiji Shokudou GEN-CHAN

While in Aqua City in Odaiba, we searched for a place to eat.  With so many restaurants, you'd think it would be easy, but that just made it so much harder!

We finally decided upon a place that served kids meals - Tsukiji Shokudou GEN-CHAN.

Kids Meal

Deep Fried Chicken with Sweet & Sour Sauce

Fried Chicken set - rice, miso soup, vegetables, pickles

Sashimi Platter
After placing our orders, the kids were all excited to get a toy from the toy basket, which kept them busy until the food came.

I ordered the Deep Fried Chicken with Sweet & Sour Sauce. I thought it was delicious - the sauce on the chicken was really good.  Each piece of chicken was tender, while being crispy on the outside.

My husband enjoyed the Sashimi Platter set, which had a variety of assorted fresh seafood, along with rice, pickles, and vegetables.

The kids meal consisted of French Fries, Rice, Hamburger, Shrimp, Juice, and Pudding.

Service and food were both excellent!

Tsukiji-Shokudou GEN-CHAN is a great spot for a family meal!
