1-Chome Shopping Street in Decks, Odaiba is always a fun place to visit.  There is an arcade with vintage games, a huge snack shop, places to play carnival-type games, a food court, and so much more!

The kids love playing in the arcade.

We also bought lots of snacks and souvenirs!

It was neat to just walk around and see all the neat displays and cool exhibits.

The kids bought "mystery boxes" which include small prizes.

We didn't eat at the food court, but we did get some drinks and a treat at Momi and Toy's.

Visit Tokyo: DiverCity Tokyo Plaza

One of my kids really wanted cotton candy while in Japan.  Although we did pass by Totti Candy Factory while in Harajuku (and the lines were not as crazy as they were in the past), we went there a few times already and I encouraged him to try a new spot.

We ended up going to the food court in the DiverCity Tokyo Plaza to get some cotton candy + ice cream at Decora Creamery.

You can get soft serve or cotton candy only, or get a combo of both.  My son was happy!

Visit Tokyo: Shiokaze Park

While in Odaiba we went to Shiokaze Park in search of a playground.  Unfortunately, it wasn't until we got to the park did we realize the playground was dismantled just a few months earlier due to safety reasons. 

However, we did stroll the park a bit, and got to view some cherry blossoms.

The Park has thousands of trees, and is right along the Odaiba waterfront, so you can see the Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge.

It's a short walk from DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, so when the kids start getting hungry, walk on over to the food court or the numerous restaurants there, and get some shopping done too!

Visit Tokyo: Unicorn Gundam Statue

While in Odaiba, we decided to watch the life-size Unicorn Gundam performance at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza.

Several performances take place throughout the day, weather permitting, as the nearly 20-meter tall statue switches between Unicorn and Destroyer.

Blink, and you will miss the transformation.

The change is really quick, and I imagine it's more compelling at night when you can see the statue's lights a lot better, but it was still really neat to see the gigantic statue in person.

Visit Tokyo: 1-Chome Playland

While in Odaiba, we went to Decks Tokyo Beach and stopped at 1-Chome Playland, a vintage arcade, to play some video games.

There were all sorts of fun and cool games for the kids to play, but my kids went straight for the classic Super Mario.

Most of the games were easy to figure out, even if all of the instructions were in Japanese.

They also enjoyed playing racing games and air hockey.

1-Chome Playland is a fun stop to spend an hour or two!

Visit Tokyo: Tonkatsu Wako

A friend who was with us on our trip to Tokyo recommended Tonkatsu Wako while we were in Odaiba (I was wondering why the place sounded familiar, and it's because Nadia went there in Shibuya!).

Located in Aqua City Odaiba, Tonkatsu Wako specializes in Breaded Pork Cutlet.

Hirekatsu-Nabe Gohan

Hire Rosu Moriawase Gohan - 2 bite-size pork fillet cutlets, pork loin cutlet

Aoi - Bite-size Pork Fillet Cutlet, Fried Shrimp, Chicken Cutlet with Plum and Perilla

Azami - Pork Cutlet Rolled with Cheese and Perilla, Fried Shrimp, Crab Croquette

I had the Hirekatsu-Nabe Gohan.  It was a huge bowl of cheesy Pork Fillet Cutlet, and rice was served separately.  The Tonkatsu was tasty, and the pork was tender.

Depending on what you order, you'll get custard soup, miso soup, and/or a small salad.

You really get a lot of food, no matter what you order.

Kids' meals are huge too.

Each child gets a complimentary toy or two snacks!

Visit Tokyo: Palette Town

Palette Town is an enormous shopping and entertainment complex in Odaiba.  You can easily spend an entire day there, with so much still left to do!

We spent two half-days there during our time in Tokyo.

We didn't do a lot of shopping in the VenusFort Mall, but we did eat a lot of sweets - at Ruby Cafe and a Le Loic.

While at Palette Town we also took a spin on the Giant Sky Wheel, visited Mega Web, and played games in Tokyo Leisureland.

It's fun to go at night when the complex lights up!

I'm sure we'll visit again on a future trip to Tokyo!

Visit Tokyo: Mega Web

Even if you're not into cars, Mega Web in Odaiba is still a neat place to visit.

This Toyota theme park includes three different areas - the History Garage, the Ride Studio, and the Toyota City Showcase.

Mega Web is indeed mega - it is so huge, that we didn't get to see everything. In fact the primary reason we went to Mega Web was for the Ride Studio,

Kids ages 3 to 5 can drive on a mini track.

Kids ages 6 to 18 go through an instructional lesson before driving a larger car on a larger track.

Drives are made on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The first time we went to the Ride Studio, the rides were all filled up for the day, so we made sure to arrive early the next time, and fortunately there was just a short wait for the kids to drive.

There is a lot to explore at Mega Web!
