Visit Tokyo: Tonkatsu Wako

I took the kids to the Tonkatsu Wako in Shibuya for lunch on a friend's recommendation and we all loved it!  Tonkatsu Wako is a well known chain with locations all over Japan and specializes in tonkatsu - a breaded deep friend pork cutlet.

Lucky for us, they have menus in English and I just pointed to what we wanted.  The kids both had the tonkatsu and fried shrimp while I had the katsu nabe. The breading on the tonkatsu is amazing and not oily at all. I also really loved my nabe. It came piping hot and was delicious. The rice was also so good and it's glossiness had me mesmerized. I didn't want to leave a single grain behind!

Super yummy nabe.  Perfect for a cold and rainy day in Tokyo.
Excuse Cade's expression.  He was so over pictures.  :)

The generous portions had us stuffed.  The restaurant is cash only.
