SKY Waikiki

Whether you're visiting Hawaii or call Hawaii home, there is no place like Sky Waikiki to unwind after a hard day at the office or at the beach.

The view from the open air rooftop bar is breathtaking.

Hidden around the corner from the rooftop bar is a private dining area that I was lucky enough to dine at with a few of my lifelong friends.  We had the entire area to ourselves, a dedicated server, and more than enough food and drinks for all of us to enjoy.

Yellowtail Ceviche
Grande Shortrib Fajitas

Flour Tortillas for the Fajitas

Grilled Octopus and Fried Risotto Bites

Garlic Chicken Sliders

Lobster Rolls

Sizzling Surf N Turf
Reservations are highly recommended for the Rooftop Bar area and can be made online here. Get there early to catch the sunset!

Validated parking is available in the building (Waikiki Business Plaza).

SKY Waikiki's Social Bites

My bar hopping days are over, but every once in a while, my gal pals from high school and I will ditch our mom duties for drinks and pupus and reminisce about the good old days.  We selected SKY Waikiki for our most recent summer get together, and here's what we nibbled on:

Garlic and Truffle Butter Fries & Caesar Salad

Slider Trio Sampler

Caprese Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Prices are a bit high, but you have to keep in mind that it's located in the heart of Waikiki on top of a building with AMAZING views of Honolulu.  Unfortunately you'll have to trust me on that because I actually didn't take any pictures of the views from the Rooftop Bar, but I did capture this peek a boo view from the Women's restroom of all places.

And if you're worried about where to park, no need to worry, because SKY Waikiki offers free validated parking at Waikiki Shopping Plaza and Waikiki Business Plaza.  Just be sure to bring your parking ticket and get it validated before you leave.

Note: if you're going during nightclub hours, there is a dress code.  Click here for the details.

The District Nightclub - Honolulu's Newest Nightlife Experience

Last night I had the opportunity to attend a media preview of The District Nightclub, a new up-and-coming hot spot for ages 23+.

Located in the former Bar Seven location (or if you went clubbing back in the 90s a lot like I did, the old Venus), The District's decor is sleek and fresh, with black and white seating areas, and purple hues of lighting throughout the nightclub, setting the mood for a fab night.

Grab a drink or a specialty cocktail from one of the three bars, and just chill with your friends.
1 of 3 bars
Another bar that was set up as a food station for all the delicious bites from MW Restaurant, which you can see here.
Three of the specialty cocktails (from top): The District Mule (Peachy Moscow Mule); White Mui; Shiso Cooler
Or hit the dance floor!

The 3,400 square foot nightclub offers a state-of-the-art sound system, lasers, Co2 Cryo Cannons and a specially designed speaker/LED beverage bar.
Loved the lasers and effects!
You can check out a quick video of the sound system and effects here, but trust me - in person the sound and effects are so impressive, and will make you want to get out onto the dance floor.

A VIP Lounge, 15 private tables and 4 levels of bottle service are available (my friend @hiteastyle won bottle service at the media event, so we will definitely be back!).

The vibe of The District is cool and classy, and a perfect spot for girls night out!

The District Nightclub's soft opening is tonight, featuring The Club Killers Experience.  Official Grand Opening is April 24.
