Halloween Treats - OREO Witch Shoes

OREO Witch Shoes!

This is another fairly easy Halloween Treat - one that the kids can easily help with!

All you do is take Halloween OREOs (they would work well with Mint OREOs too), place about 7 to 10 OREOs in a clear plastic bag (number of OREOs depends on how long you want the "leg" to be; I used a poly bag bought from a craft store), and tie the bag at the top with some ribbon.

Then you make your Witch Shoe.  You can google online for a template, but it's super easy to just cut out a shape freehand.  Let your kids cut out all sorts of fun shoe shapes!

You can cut the shoe from black construction paper or card stock, or you could also use Halloween treat bags (like in the below photo).

Punch a hole near the top of the shoe and tie a ribbon, or simply use tape to keep the shoe secure around the OREOs.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Treat - Yummy Mummies

I made these "Yummy Mummies" for a class Halloween treat one year.

All you need are regular size Hershey candy bars (I'm sure you could make these with other sizes too), hot glue, googly eyes, and white crepe paper.

Simply wrap the crepe paper around each candy bar, making sure to leave a space to glue on the eyes.

I admit it was harder than I thought it would be to wrap the crepe paper neatly around the candy bars, but it's an easy enough activity that your kids can do too.

Smiley Apple Snacks

These Smiley Apple Snacks are a fun afterschool snack or Halloween treat!

Simply take sliced apples and spread peanut butter on each slice.

Then take mini marshmallows and place them on one peanut butter-covered apple slice, and place another peanut butter-covered apple slice on top of the marshmallows (pb side down).

I used chunky pb, which made the smiles look messy and a little gross - suitable for Halloween!  You could even leave out a marshmallow or two to make the "smiles" even sillier.

Such a fun way to eat apples!

Halloween Chocolate Pretzel Treats

This year for my middle son's class I signed up for Halloween treats, so I decided to make these Chocolate Pretzel Treats.

I simply put Hershey's Kisses on pretzels, put them in the oven for 5 minutes at 250 degrees Fahrenheit, and then placed an M&M or Candy Corn on each.

After letting them cool for about 10 minutes, I put them in the fridge to set for another 10 minutes, then packed them up into bags.

I've made them for Christmas using Hugs and red & green M&M's, but you can also use different shapes of pretzels, other chocolates, etc.  The recipe is very versatile!

Happy Halloween!
