Pig and the Lady: Ahi Tataki Kits

The Pig and the Lady recently started offering Ahi Tataki Kits by pre-order only.  They are only available for pick up at the Pig and the Lady on Fridays and Saturdays.

Each kit comes with seven pieces of fried bread, tomato sauce, avocado spread, ahi tataki, garlic shoyu, chili flakes, and chives.

The instructions are easy to follow and even include pictures.  Basically, you start with the fried bread as your base, then you start layering each ingredient.  And as little or as much as you like of each ingredient - it's up to you!

You don't need to be a chef or have any culinary background in order to assemble these! Not only are they very Instagrammable, they're incredibly delicious!

Pre-order by Thursdays for pick up at the Pig and the Lady on Friday or Saturday.  Curbside pick up is available!!

Gochi Grill's Hunker Down Pop-Up

Although Gochi Grill closed its doors for the month of July due to the spoke in COVID-19 cases, they held a one-day "hunker down pop up" which was by pre-order only.

The menu included ready-to-heat entrees, as well as frozen items, and desserts.

Meatloaf

Corn Chowder

Katsu n Cake Noodle

Guave and Orange Creamsicle Panna Cotta

My biggest regret was not ordering more food! Everything was delicious and Gochi Grill announced that they will be closed through the month of August! I'm crossing my fingers that they will hold another one-day pop up soon!

More from Gochi Grill

If you follow our blog regularly, you may have noticed that Gem is a big fan of Gochi Grill.  She has posted about Gochi Grill numerous times, and even had the chefs behind Gochi Grill come and cook a private dinner for her and her friends at a home a couple of years ago.

I finally got to try some of Chef John's creations from Gochi Grill, and now I see why Gem loves this place (and the Chef) so much.  The food and desserts are outstanding!!

ahi katsu

meatloaf

chicken katsu

bobadofu

chocolate bread pudding
The chicken katsu, which many people have said is one of the best on the island, is just that - one of the best! After a 30 minute drive home, the katsu was still crispy.  Same goes for the ahi katsu, and I would like to know what he puts in the nori aioli he serves it with.  The meatloaf comes with mushrooms and gravy, and a small crispy croquette on the side.

In addition to hot entrees, Gochi Grill also sells ready to heat entrees and soups on certain days. Follow @gochigrill on Instagram for updates and daily menus!

Artizen by MW's Hot Chick'n Sand

If you're not a fan of jumping on the bandwagon and waiting in long lines for a fried chicken sandwich, head over to Artizen by MW and order the Hot Chick'n Sand

You won't have to wait as long, it's NOT a national franchise (support local chefs!), and it's a darn good fried chicken sandwich.

They only sell 10 per day, so keep that in mind if you're planning to come down to the restaurant for this specific menu item. And if they're sold out ... try the bento box, burger, or bacon grilled cheese (yes, I said BACON!).

Don't forget to pick up a panna cotta, or two, to complete your meal!
