Scratch Kitchen & Meatery

A few weekends ago I met @darayoung for brunch at Scratch Kitchen & Meatery.

The restaurant doesn't open until 9am, but Dara and I arrived at 8:30am (the first ones!).  We found a table outside to sit and chat - and by the time we got in the ever-growing line 17 minutes later, there were about 6 parties in front of us, with lots of other people at the tables or just hanging out.

At 8:50am, the line was already about 30 people deep.  By the time the restaurant opened at 9am, there were about 40-50 people in line!

As Nadia mentioned in her post, the team behind Scratch Kitchen changes up the menu each season.  The summer season menu included the popular "Milk & Cereal" Pancakes, and as much as I loved this dish, my eyes were drawn to "Fried Chicken."

Buttermilk Fried Chicken Benny
The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Benny had a little kick to it, as hot sauce hollandaise was poured over the entire dish, and the toast was smothered with pimento cheese.  The entire dish did not disappoint.

Dara had the Bostock French Toast, which was topped with apple butter, an apple brandy maple syrup, and toasted almonds.

Service was great, and I wouldn't hesitate to return!
