Dinner at Aulani's `Ama`ama

While staycationing at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the open-air, oceanfront `Ama`ama.

Complimentary Bread
Roasted Kamuela Tomato Soup
Kids Ham and Cheese Pizza
House-made Cavatelli with Hamakua Mushroom Ragout

Grilled Kurubota Pork Chop
Mickey-Shaped Cookies and Cream Mousse Filled Tart with Banana Milk Shake
Warm Honoka`a Mochi Cake

I ordered the Cavatelli with Chicken (extra), and it was delicious.  A Cherry Tomato Confit, Smoked Bacon and Gremolata completed the dish.  I'm glad I ordered the Chicken to go with the Pasta, because it made it a heartier dish.

My husband enjoyed the Pork Chop, which was served with a Tomato Salad, Jicama, Baby Thai Basil, and a Malaysian Peanut Sauce.

Kids meals are $14.  There are set Mickey Check Meals (healthier options, such as Grilled Chicken), or kids can choose a beverage, entree (Pizza, Chicken Strips, or Short Ribs), and appetizer or dessert.

The Tomato Soup was so good I ended up eating one of my son's leftovers, and the Mickey Tart was just adorable!

I decided to try the Mochi Cake for dessert, as it was recommended by our server.  The Mochi Cake was accompanied by Azuki Gelato, Haupia, and Caramel Sauce.  By itself, the Mochi was good, but combined with the Gelato, Haupia, and Caramel Sauce, it was even better.

The food came out surprisingly fast, and service was great.

Reservations are highly recommended, and if you dine in the evening, you could be treated to magnificent sunset views!
