There are so many reasons to visit Disneyland - one of the top reasons (IMHO) is the food! Here's some of the things we enjoyed during our recent two-day visit to Disneyland Park and California Adventure. On a side note, there are A LOT of great things to eat at both parks in Anaheim. I didn't have time to hit all of the places that I wanted to, so if you want to see what's trending or new at the parks, you should jump on Instagram or Youtube - there's a lot of content on the food at Disneyland!
CHURROS - the son ate 5 churros throughout our two-day visit! There are churro carts all throughout both parks. The classic cinnamon and sugar churro is most common, but at select places, there are
churros with different toppings and flavors.
BLUE MILK - you can get this at only one place - the Milk Stand at Disneyland Park, Star War's Galaxy Edge. According to the menu, it's made of plant based coconut and rice milk, with fruity characteristics (whatever that means!). It's hard to describe the taste, but it's very refreshing!
FROZEN BANANA - the husband had to get one of these frozen bananas. He told us he used together these all the time when they came to Disneyland with his parents. They're gluten-free and dairy-free, Don't forget to allow it to thaw for a few minutes before taking your first bite!
POPCORN- also located throughout both parks are popcorn carts. I don't know what it is about the popcorn at Disneyland, but it's delicious, and others think so too because there were always long lines at every cart we passed. I bought a souvenir container on the first day because I knew we'd be buying more popcorn. There's no refill price, but at least now I had something to put our popcorn in when we bought more boxes like the one below that sells for $5.75 each.
BEEF BIRRIA TOASTED CHEESE - I had seen this featured on the Instagram feeds of Disney fans, and I knew I wanted to try this. I ordered it ahead of time via mobile order to ensure that I would be able to get one, and it did not disappoint! It consists of beef, pepper jack, onions, cilantro and salsa verde served on toasted sourdough, served with Consumme. I highly recommend this sandwich if it's on the. menu at Jolly Cafe (it's a seasonal item!).
CHICKEN FENDERS - FLO'S V8 CAFE - we always have at least one meal at Flo's in California Adventure Park. It has a lot of seating, and the boys like the food here. Chicken Fenders for the boys (comes with Cuties Mandarin oranges, carrots and choice of beverage. For the plant-based/vegetarians, the Impossible Burger is for you (although the cheese is American cheese, not vegan).
CHICKEN SHAWARMA WRAP - I came across one of the two carts in California Adventure Park (both in Avengers Campus) as I was walking around at night. I decided to try "New York's Tastiest" which is a wrap filled with chicken, served with a side of coconut yogurt Tahini sauce. It hit the spot! There is also a plant-based option that comes with plant-based falafel and cauliflower wrap with the same sauce.
THERMAL DETONATORS - sold exclusively at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge are these collectible "thermal detonator "bottles of Coco Cola products. Quench your thirst and acquire a souvenir all at once.
CHURRO FUNNEL CAKE - another seasonal item is the Churro Funnel Cake, available at the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country. It's a funnel cake covered with cinnamon, sugar, caramel sauce, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped topping.
Also at Hungry Bear Restaurant, we enjoyed the Honey-Spiced Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, and the Classic Impossible Cheeseburger.
JACK-JACK COOKIE NUM NUMS - if you're on team chewy when it comes to cookies, you need this in your life. It's best eaten right on the spot when it's still warm. Find it at Pixar Pier.
Visiting Disneyland soon? Plan ahead and mobile order your food if possible, and do your research on what you want to eat before your trip so that you don't miss out on anything!
