Burger Jjang at Beer Lab - Pearlridge

Although I've been trying to eat more plants than animals lately, I could not resist the opportunity to get together with friends to try Burger Jjang - a concept by Sistah (see Gem's review of Sistah here). Beer ... smash burgers ... fries ... and friends .... the perfect pairing! Thank you Hawaii Mom Blogger Nadia for spearheading this get together!

At Beer Lab, to order food from the kitchen, you must place your order online using your smartphone. After we each placed our orders, we walked to the bar to order our beers. I love how their locally crafted beers come in three sizes, including a 4 ounce taster that was the perfect size for me and Nadia.

We all ordered the Jjang Smash Burger, and Nadia ordered a Tater Tot Nachos side for us all to share. And then to our surprise, the Sistahs came out with a few extra sides for us to enjoy with our burgers!  The fried items were nice n crispy, and the pretzel was still hot and fluffy. It was pretty tasty on its own without the cheese dip!

Sistah at Beer Lab HI at Pearlridge

I've been wanting to try Sistah ever since they had their food truck in Manoa. When they started operating out of Beer Lab HI in Pearlridge, I knew it wouldn't be long before I finally got to try the food.

I've heard so many great things about the fries and the katsu, so when I met @melissa808 there, I knew that's what I wanted to order.

Well, when we arrived, the team behind Sistah's saw Melissa (everyone knows Melissa!) and brought out the popular dishes, plus some new ones for us to try!

Everything was just as amazing as I expected.  The Kim Chee Fries were so crispy and flavorful, topped with their secret kimchi seasoning).

Everyone raves about the Chicken Katsu with Mushroom Gravy, and it's so good!  I love that they put Garlic Butter on the rice!

The Tater Tot Nachos were so addicting.  The tots were perfectly crisp, and they were loaded with bacon, jalapenos, cheese, and green onions.  I ate nearly the entire container myself!

I enjoyed the Asian twist on the deviled eggs, and the Garlic Cheese Naan with Beer Lab Salami was delish as well.  Every single dish that the Team gave us I would order again.  

I think next time I want to get some of the Mushroom Gravy to pour on their Fries too!
