Visit Massachusetts: Salem Witch Trials Memorial

Salem is known for the witch trials of 1692. We stopped at the Salem Witch Trials Memorial, where granite benches stated the name of each victim, how the victim died, and when the victim died.

Walking through the memorial was quite emotionally heavy, as I read the names of each and the method of execution. 

At the entrance of the memorial are words engraved that were taken from court transcripts.  They are purposely "incomplete," to represent how the lives of the victims were cut short.

After visiting, I'm now eager to learn more about the witch trials.

Visit Salem: Turner's Seafood

While in Salem, we visited Turner's Seafood.  We visited the location in the historic Lyceum Hall, and it turned out to be my favorite restaurant during our holiday vacay.

Lobster Bisque

I opted for the Soup and Salad Combo.  I chose the Award-Winning Lobster Bisque for my soup, and the Caesar for my salad.  The Lobster Bisque was amazing, and the best thing I ate during the entire trip.

It was so creamy, so flavorful - I slurped up every last drop.  You could top it off with lobster meat if you wish, but I thought it was perfect the way it was.  I wish I ordered a bowl of it!

Turner's Seafood was very crowded. We were lucky our party of 7 was seated without a reservation.  I'd highly recommend a visit if you love seafood, and I'd definitely recommend making reservations.

Visit Massachusetts: Waikiki Beach

Waikiki Beach?  In Massachusetts?

Well, as we were leaving Salem, I happened to check our location on Google Maps and noticed Winter Island / Waikiki Beach just a few minutes away.

Intrigued, we went to check it out. 

It's a pretty beach, and I imagine during the summers it gets quite busy.

The beach is on Winter Island, where people can go clamming. 

Finding Waikiki Beach all the way on the East Coast was definitely fun!
