Authentic Mongolian Style BBQ at Khan Skewer Restaurant

Maui Venison, Chicken, and Beef

Khan Skewer Restaurant has been around for a few years and I had no idea how popular this
neighborhood gem was! Lucky for us, we were invited to a media dinner to get a taste of their
authentic Mongolian-style BBQ. Skewers are made fresh daily and served fully cooked. They
include a variety of meat, seafood, and vegetables. The extensive menu also offers appetizers, side dishes, and chef’s specials. As for drinks, they have a selection of wines, beers, sake and sodas.

The restaurant holds about 10 tables and can accommodate large parties. It’s a cozy, relaxed
space and service was great. To start, we opted for the super fun DIY drink station that includes four bottles of beer and one bottle of flavored soju. The drinks are dispensed from a fruit filled LED lit container. So great for parties!

For our meal, we started with beef, Maui venison, chicken thigh, and pork belly with asparagus skewers and followed it up with salt and pepper corn, enoki mushrooms, and eggplant. My favorite skewers were the chicken and pork belly, but I loved the veggies even more! Definitely recommend ordering those veggies to pair with your favorite meats.
We also tried the calamari, grilled garlic oysters, grilled garlic lobster tail, and scallops with
vermicelli. I’m not a huge fan of oysters and scallops, but I really liked the vermicelli with the
scallop. The lobster and calamari were delicious. Included in your meal is the first serving of
Snow fluffy milk ice which was sweet, creamy, and refreshing.

New at Aunty's Ramen: Mongolian Stir-fry

Aunty's Ramen, mostly known for build-your-own ramen bowls, now offers Mongolian Stir-fry for those who aren't in the mood for hot soup.

The concept is the same - select your ingredients (look for the special Mongolian stir-fry section at the end of the ingredient line), take your ingredients to the cashier to have it weighed, select your sauce (mild, spicy, curry), select your starch (choice of noodles, rice, or fried rice), then wait for your stir-fry to be delivered to your table.  Note there is a minimum purchase of $10 for either stir-fry or ramen.

Since I wanted to save room for dessert, I chose a modest amount of ingredients, added pork for an additional $2, and opted for the mild sauce and egg noodles.  My stir-fry came out to $10.20.

My stir-fry was delivered with a small loaf of flaky sesame bread. The bread is hollow and I believe you're supposed to put some of the stir-fry in the pocket and consume it like a pita pocket.

I was really impressed with the flavor of the stir-fry. Although I had some chef made soy sauce on the side for extra flavor, I ended up not using it at all.

No meal is complete at Aunty's Ramen without her infamous shave ice dessert.  I saw on social media that she finally brought back her strawberry mochi topping - my favorite!!

Check out Aunty's new Mongolian stir-fry today!

p.s. she's now open 7 days a week!
