Visit Tokyo: Shinbashi Tamakiya

While walking through Ginza, we stumbled upon Shinbashi Tamakiya, a shop that specializes in ochazuke and furikake.

There were all sorts of different varieties of furikake. Hijiki, vegetable, scallop, kelp, shrimp, and so much more! It was hard to resist the colorful packages!

I bought several packets of sakura furikake for omiyage.

Note - be sure to let your recipient know what it is if he/she can't read Japanese - I gave some to a friend, she thought it was candy, opened it up at her desk, and made a mess!

Visit Tokyo: Hakuhinkan Toy Park

While in Ginza we took the kiddos to Hakuhinkan Toy Park.

Five floors are filled with all sorts of toys and games!

What's quite neat about this toy store is that there is a super fun model car race track.  For just 200 yen, kids (or adults) can race cars via remote control for five minutes.
Whether you're looking for a collector's item, a fun gift, or simply some time to kill while exploring the busy streets of Ginza, visit Hakuhinkan Toy Park!

Visit Tokyo: Kit Kat Chocolatory

While in Ginza, we visited the Kit Kat Chocolatory.

Although you can get all sorts of different Kit Kat flavors at many shops throughout Japan (e.g. wasabi, sake, etc.), there are a few things you can only find at the Kit Kat Chocolatory.

The shop just opened up last year, and you'll find exclusive flavors, such as the Sublime Ruby, and Birthstone Kit Kats.

Go upstairs in Kit Kat Chocolatory to find a cafe with both sweet and savory eats!

The Sublime Ruby Kit Kat was not very sweet, so it paired nicely with the hot chocolate.

The Kit Kat Chocolatory is a must-stop for omiyage!
