Visit Seoul: Gangnam

It was a rainy day in Seoul, but we took the bus to the 3rd largest city - Gangnam.

Most people know Gangnam from the popular song Gangnam Style, and there is actually a monument dedicate to Psy and this song (complete with a video monitor so you can dance and sing along, if you wish).

The statue is located right outside the Starfield COEX Mall - a huge underground mall with over 200 stores, restaurants, an aquarium, a movie theater, and more.

A centerpiece of the mall is the Starfield Library.  The towers of books are quite a sight!

We did some shopping at the mall, ate at McDonald's, then explored the area a bit more.

We even made sure to stop at Baskin-Robbins Brown - a must-stop for any ice cream lover.

Aside from the world-famous song, Gangnam has been popular for it's trendy, luxury shops.   Although that kind of shopping is not our style, it was fun to visit the COEX mall while we were in Gangnam!

Visit Seoul: Baskin-Robbins Brown

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love ice cream, and I try to visit at least one ice cream shop when I travel.  Why would I want to visit Baskin-Robbins while in South Korea, when we have them all over the US?  Well, not only is there a huge affinity for Baskin-Robbins (there are so many locations throughout Seoul, with many shops way bigger than the typical US shop, and some boasting 100 flavors), but there is a Korean-branded Baskin-Robbins shop called Baskin-Robbins Brown.

Baskin-Robbins Brown is huge in size and in flavor selection.  The sleek, stylish location in Cheongdam has 100 flavors, as well as a variety of ice cream treats, coffees, and more, to welcome guests to Baskin-Robbins Brown.

It was very overwhelming, as you can imagine, to try and pick a flavor, so we opted for a sampler, plus a couple of cones.

We ordered flavors such as:

Cute strawberry

Pikachu Mew
Puss and boots
Jamocha cookie
Dark chocolate knight
Rainbow sherbet
Twin berry yogurt
Sweet corn
Aliens banana kick
Love struck strawberry
