Tsue's Farm

We've driven past Tsue's Farm hundreds of times (literally), but it wasn't until recently did we stop to check it out.

We primarily went there to eat. They have a limited menu of plate lunches.

Each plate comes with rice, salad, and pineapple.

I had the Bo Spesho, which came with teri chicken and noodles.  The teri chicken was more like shoyu chicken in my opinion, and was pretty salty.  The noodles were okay.  The plates are pretty pricey at $19 or $20.

My sons loved the Garlic Shrimp and Kalua Pork.

For $5, you can get a heaping mound of shave ice.  For $1 extra you can add on toppings (like condensed milk). 

It was so refreshing.

There are animals on the farm - mostly just goats and a turtle, and you can even pick fruit (for a fee).  

There is no fee to just walk through the farm, and if you're lucky, the employee may have some lettuce for you to feed the goats. 

The farm is also a launching point for kayakers and stand-up paddle boarders, and there were a lot of people who were coming through to rent kayaks or stand-up paddle boards to go down to the Anahulu River.

Tsue Farm was a nice spot to check out for a morning.  There was plenty of shade so you could enjoy your lunch or shave ice in comfort.

Visit Maui: Kula Country Farms

We didn't have much of an itinerary for Maui, so when I googled nearby places in upcountry, we decided to check out Kula Country Farms, and it turned out to be the highlight of the day trip for me!

It's a cute place for kids to roam, with fun displays, animals, and photo ops.

You can get a great view of all the goats in the field against a backdrop of the gorgeous mountains.

There are so many pretty flowers throughout the grounds.

You can also buy produce and other locally-made goods at the on-site farm stand.

It was such a charming, quaint vibe at the farm, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  

Kula Country Farms was a favorite find!

Visit New Zealand - Wanaka Lavender Farm

Wanaka is a popular resort town in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand.  It's also home to a beautiful 20 acre lavender farm.  At Wanaka Lavender Farm, you will find lavender fields, gardens, animals and more.  There is also a tea room, honey tasting, and gift shop that serves delicious lavender ice creams.  Perfect for families with children.

The fields are especially fragrant when in bloom.

Sweet Land Farm

After seeing a social media post of Sweet Land Farm on IG, I was eager to take the kids there! 

The artisan goat milk creamery is currently only open on Saturdays, and I highly recommend you getting there early to avoid crowds.

We were the first ones there at 9am, and within the hour, there were many families who came to visit.

You can buy alfalfa from the gift shop for $3 a bag to feed the goats.

In the gift shop you can see where they dry age the cheese.

In the shop you can also buy goat milk products and ready-to-eat foods, as well as soaps, cheese boards, and more!

I bought some gouda and their award-winning tomme, as well as some caramel and garlic chevre.

I also bought a lemon bar and a tray of cheese and crackers, which we ate outside of the gift shop.

The kids had fun, and it was neat for them to find out that the milk that came from the goats went into the cheese that we ate.

It's always great to see where our food comes from!
