Visit Auckland: Windsor Reserve

My youngest son recently said "I have a weird question - why do we always visit playgrounds when we go on trips, but in Hawaii, we hardly go to any playgrounds?"

I laughed at that very accurate observation. 

On our trip to New Zealand, we visited many, many playgrounds, one of which was Windsor Reserve, which we stumbled upon by accident. 

It's a fun playground in a huge park, right next to the beach.

We saw lots of people picnicking and strolling the sand.

There are a number of benches and tables for parents to sit nearby and watch over the kiddos.

Windsor Reserve was a nice spot to take in some fresh air!

Visit Auckland: Corelli's Cafe

While in Devonport, we were looking for a spot to eat lunch, and fortunately, Corelli's Cafe was just a one minute walk away from where we parked.

I was not very hungry, so I just ordered some Curly Fries.  I always have room for fries!  I did try some of the Nachos, however, and they were quite tasty!

A kids menu is offered with breakfast and lunch items (breakfast served all day).  The pizza, topped with ham, cheese, and pineapple, was enormous.

Although I wasn't that hungry, the desserts in the display case were beckoning, especially the Cheesecake.  It was amazing!  Rich, creamy, and dense - just the way I like cheesecakes.

I thought the Sticky Date Pudding was just okay.

Corelli's Cafe was a very family-friendly spot for a delicious lunch.  And be sure to save room for dessert!
