Agu Ramen - Pearlridge Center

I love Agu Ramen.  It's one of my favorite ramen spots on the island, and I finally got to try the Pearlridge Center location!

I was a little bummed on this visit, because they were out of gyoza!  Gyoza with ramen is a must for me!  Apparently it was very busy the night before, so the eatery ran out of several items, including gyoza.

Fortunately, there were still plenty of items we wanted to order.

I loved the AGUcini - rice sauteed in tonkotsu broth, garlic, char siu, and Parmesan cheese rolled in panko and fried.  It's a spin on arancini (fried risotto balls), and I couldn't get enough of the creamy rice and crunchy coating.

I wished the Karaage Curry Rice included more chicken, but the curry was generous, and included huge chunks of pork and carrots.

My husband ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu, topped with pork char siu, egg, bamboo, and onions.  He originally requested spice level 5, but our server asked him if he tried level 5 before.  He said he didn't, so she recommended a 3, advising that they could always add more spice later.

Thank goodness she made that recommendation, because my husband thought the level 3 was quite spicy, and that he didn't think he'd be able to enjoy the ramen if it was at level 5.

Service was excellent, and although I was bummed there was no gyoza, our family still had a great dining experience!
