Visit Whistler: Black's Pub and Restaurant

Black's Pub and Restaurant was recommended as a good breakfast spot in Whistler, but our friends and our family ended up eating lunch there one day.

I was craving soup to warm me up, so I opted for the Classic Grilled Cheese - cheddar, Swiss, and cream cheese on a toasted French loaf, and served with a tomato basil soup. The combination of the crunchy bread, gooey cheese, and hot, creamy soup was perfect!

Kids meals were under $10 CAD, and were generous portions.  The meals even came with a nice side salad!

Unfortunately, throughout our visit we did too much waiting.

We had to wait (and wait and wait) to order, for our food, for drinks to be refilled, takeout containers, our bill, and to pay.

The final straw was when our server did not come back with the credit card machine. We waited and waited, and finally my husband went to tell another server we wanted to pay, but she said we had to wait for our server.

Our friend ended up leaving cash so we didn't have to wait any longer.

It was almost a two-hour lunch, most of the time just waiting (if it was a full house, I'd be more understanding, but there were only a handful of tables seated)!

Everything we ordered was delicious, it's just too bad the service fell short.
