Ice Cream at the Pillbox Pharmacy

Thanks to a handful of people that I follow on Instagram, I now know where to get some of the best tasting ice cream on the island, for less than $2 a scoop: at a little hole-in-the-wall pharmacy in Kaimuki town.

The ice cream they sell is shipped in from Oregon, and it's fantastic. Their most popular flavor is called "moosetracks", and I have yet to try it because they are always out of it when come here, so I end up with the second most popular flavor - huckleberry.

At $1.44 for a "big" single scoop cone, you can't go wrong, especially when places like Haagen Daz are selling single scoop cones for $4+. The kiddie size is actually a good size for both kids and adults, but if you're Chinese like me, you'll pay the $.19 for a larger scoop.

If you like berries, try the huckleberry.

I had never heard of this brand until visiting the Pillbox Pharmacy, but I'm a big fan of it now.

Look at these prices - definitely a throwback to the good old days when everything was a few bucks cheaper than they are now.
