Visit Pasadena: Lucky Boy

We had an appointment in Pasadena, and just so happened Lucky Boy was right next door, so we grabbed some lunch.

While waiting in line to order, I overheard many people order breakfast burritos (even though it was lunch time), so naturally, I decided to get one too.

Famous Breakfast Burrito
It's hard to tell just how huge the breakfast burrito was by this pic, but it was nearly as big as my face.
There was enough bacon, eggs, and cheese in the burrito to feed a small family!

Turns out all the portions are huge!
Hamburger

Onion Rings
The Onion Rings were not the greatest - they had a nice batter, but it was not seasoned.
Avocado Burger

Fries
SoCal was experiencing a heat wave, so the shakes were a welcome treat!

If you go to Lucky Boy, bring your appetite!

Visit California: Neon Retro Arcade

While in California, we sought out somewhere air-conditioned to spend some time at to retreat from the heat, and we ended up at Neon Retro Arcade in Pasadena.
For $10 an hour (or $25 for an all-day pass with in & out privileges), you can play pinball, retro video games, or even newer games on more modern consoles.

From Tetris to Tron, Millipede to Ms. Pac-Man, you can take your pick from a number of games to play.

There are no food and drinks served in the arcade, but they do have limited snacks for purchase.

The kids had a blast, and it was a fun, cool way to spend an hour!

Visit California: Paradis Ice Cream

Paradis Ice Cream is a chain found throughout both Demark and America.  We visited the Pasadena location for some delicious, hand-crafted ice cream.

OREO

Chocolate Santo Domingo

Speculoos Cookie Butter + Double Chocolate
I loved the Double Chocolate ice cream, which is vegan!  Made with almond and coconut milks, it was loaded with chocolaty goodness (and chocolate chips!).

The Chocolate Santo Domingo is made with Dominican Fair-Trade Cocoa

The ice cream was rich, creamy, and simply pure quality ice cream.

There is limited seating upstairs in the shop.
