Visit Maui: Baked on Maui

We went to Haiku and stopped at Baked on Maui for some breakfast eats.

They offer sandwiches, skillets, omelets, and lots of baked goods!

Cinnamon Roll

I'm not usually a sweets-for-breakfast kind of person, but the Cinnamon Roll was beckoning me!

It was light and so fluffy! 

Pauwela Bar

Baked on Maui is located in the former Pauwela Cannery, so I had to get the fittingly-named Pauwela Bar.  It was very reminiscent of those no-bake Magic Cookie Bars. So yummy!

The Mops

The Mops Sandwich included shaved ham, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, Muenster cheese, and over easy eggs.  

Simple ingredients, but so delish!

Baked on Maui was a nice stop for breakfast!

Maui Day Trip Stop 5 - Twin Falls Farm Stand

After having to be turned back from the rest of the Twin Falls Hike due to recent heavy rains, we stopped at Twin Falls Farm Stand to re-hydrate.

The farm stand sells all sorts of goodies - banana bread, smoothies, popsicles, and fruit.

If you forget your bug spray for the hike, they sell that too, but they don't sell any bottled water! 

Instead, they sell coconuts so you can drink coconut water!

Since Nadia didn't try coconut water before, she decided to buy one.

The employee working at the stand said they go through about 100 coconuts a day, and the younger and greener the coconut, the fresher the water is.

She enjoyed it!

I thought it was pretty good too.

The perfect way to re-hydrate after hiking Twin Falls (even if the hike is cut short).

Maui Day Trip Stop 4 - Twin Falls Hike

As much as Nadia & I love to eat, we made sure to schedule some non-eating stops on our day trip to Maui.  

We headed to the Twin Falls Hike, a popular stop for those who are on their way to Hana.

There are a couple of parking lots, both of which were packed, but we lucked out with finding a parking space right away.

Unfortunately, because of a huge storm a few days prior (which knocked out power to the entire island), a big portion of the hike was closed off due to hazardous conditions, so we only had access to the lower falls.

Because of the recent heavy rains, the waterfall was gushing!

Although we did not get to see the main waterfall, we're just glad we got to see one of the waterfalls!

Because the hike is on private land and the property owners have generously allowed the public access, be sure to stay on the path, don't pick any fruits, and contribute to the portable toilet fund if possible.

Most importantly - "Respect the land - leave only footprints."
