Visit Italy: Pani e Casu

One of my favorite dining experiences in Italy was at Pani e Casu (bread and cheese), where we feasted on authentic Sardinian dishes.

Fava Beans

Eggplant

Assorted Bread

Olives

Mushroom Carpaccio

Assorted Cheese

Snails in Tomato Sauce

Assorted Vegetables
Figs & Prosciutto

We had some VIP hosts, so we didn't even order from the menu.  The staff just brought us dish after dish after dish.

I loved the simple, yet delicious dishes that were made with quality ingredients.  I loved the bread and cheese (of course), as well as the eggplant and mushroom dishes.

The highlight of the meal was when a porcetto, or suckling pig, was brought to the table.
Porcetto
What a treat!  The skin was so crispy, and the meat was flavorful.

It was such a fabulous meal, and I would highly recommend dining at Pani e Casu for traditional Sardinian dishes.

Visit Italy: Agriturismo Su Leunaxiu

Our lodging in Sardinia was at Agriturismo Su Leunaxiu.

This working farm, which grows olives, grapes, and so much more, offers charming rooms for a quaint and cozy stay.

I have no photos of the room, as we arrived at the farm around 9pm at night after 24 hours of traveling and I was exhausted - however the rooms were small, but nice, with a tv, mini fridge, air conditioning, and a small bathroom with a standup shower.

Our host arranged for this welcome spread

They serve a nice breakfast spread each morning of authentic Sardinian eats, and you can peruse the grounds, which has gorgeous blooms, a mini museum, and even donkeys!

If you would like dinner on property, you have to request it in advance, otherwise, if you're looking for something to eat, you'll have to drive into town, as there are no businesses nearby the farm.

The staff was very friendly, and despite the language barrier, we got by okay whenever we needed something (coffee, water, etc.).   Amenities are pretty much non-existent on property (eg no place to buy snacks, after a certain time the staff goes home; if you need toilet paper, towels, etc. after hours - you have to wait until the next day).  We communicated via whatsapp, so if there was an emergency, I'm sure someone would have responded, but the farm is a no-frills place that offers rest and relaxation (when you arrive, your keys are already in the door).

Agriturismo Su Leunaxiu is a nice place to stay for some peace and quiet, away from it all.

Visit Sardinia: Argiolas Winery + Dialogo Adagio

We (Na`au) were very fortunate to do some events at Argiolas Winery, and even more fortunate we got to spend time with the family behind what many consider to be the premiere wine brand in Sardinia, an Italian island in the Mediterranean.

Founded in 1938 by Antonio Argiolas, the estate uses native and Sardinian vines that are grown on over 600 acres.

Their reach expanded internationally with the first Turriga in 1988, a powerful and complex red wine, that solidified Argiolas as a worldwide leader in winemaking.

Due to a lack of time, we unfortunately did not get a chance to see the vineyards, but we did get to see the barrel rooms and where the fermentation takes place.

I wish we had more time to spend at the winery, because it was just fascinating to learn about the terroir and how different elements help to create the subtle nuances of various wines.

You can visit their wine shop, go on tours and tastings (there is even a kiddie corner to occupy the little ones - what a brilliant idea!), and they offer other types of events as well.

The Tagliamare Brut Rose (on the right) is my fave!

They are currently celebrating the 30th vintage of Turriga.

A special exhibit, #DialogoAdagio, runs through September 30, showcasing art made with natural elements from the vineyards.

I really do hope I get to visit again one day to learn more about Argiolas and the spectacular wines produced there.
