New to Kakaako: Drybar

I absolutely love getting my hair and make-up done so I was ecstatic to attend a Yelp event at Hawaii's only Drybar located in Kakaako.  Guests of the event were treated to a blowout ($45 - gratuity not included) which includes a wash and a complimentary glass of water, tea, coffee, mimosa, white wine or champagne!  Drybar offers a menu of 8 different types of aptly named blowouts ranging from the sleek and smooth Manhattan to the Mai Tai's beachy waves to the Cosmo's loose curls and some in between.  They also offer uptinis, braids, hair treatments, and specially priced blowouts for the 10 and under Shirley Temples.

My stylist was awesome and super sweet.  I had already picked out the style I wanted - the mai tai for some beachy waves.  She led me to the washing room where she washed my hair and gave me the best scalp massage.  I was in heaven.  We walked back to her station and as she applied sweet smelling products to my hair and dried it, I sipped on my mimosa and felt so relaxed.  It was just what I needed after much traffic and a long day at work.

As I was relaxing, I thought how fun it would be to get a group of girlfriends together and treat ourselves to blowouts before a nice dinner.  Or how my daughter would love to get her hair styled on our next mommy-daughter outing or maybe get an updo for her upcoming banquet.  Ah, the possibilities are endless!

My entire experience was stellar from start to finish and I would definitely recommend it.  I loved how my hair turned out and I felt so pretty and renewed.  I also got lots of compliments from my friends so that was the icing on the cake!

About Drybar:
Drybar is based on the simple concept of focusing on one thing and being the best at it: Blowouts. The idea was a natural one for curly haired founder Alli Webb, a longtime professional stylist, who constantly found herself overpaying for blowouts at traditional salons.  In addition to 70+ locations throughout the US and Canada, their growing product line (created specifically for the perfect blowout), is sold through their own shops, as well as Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta and Bloomingdale's.

Review: Circle of Friends Hair Products Make Bath Time Fun Again

Disclosure:  Products were received complimentary for review purposes.  All opinions are entirely my own.

I’ve tried a lot of different kids’ shampoos on my son’s hair and haven’t been impressed with any of them.  As a result, I sparingly use my super expensive - albeit possibly too harsh - shampoo on his cute little head, but I always keep an eye out for a quality shampoo specifically designed for children and their hair needs.

I jumped at the opportunity to try a couple of products from Circle of Friends.  The company’s hair care products are formulated using only the highest quality ingredients and enriched with beneficial and fun flavors.  The products are safe and gentle and never tested on animals.

My son is 5 so the entire bath process needs to be quick so I chose Hans' Blueberry 2-in-1 Shampoo.  It’s formulated with a soothing blend of Aloe and Chamomile to help balance while maintaining moisture and shine.  He likes the blueberry scent and I love that just a little goes a long way.  While I am washing his hair, I talk about Hans, the cute character on the shampoo bottle and that he is from Germany.  My son is interested which makes bath time more fun for the both of us.

The other product I chose was a styling product for my son’s short hair.  Luc's Lemon Lime Shine Hair Slicker is a lightweight pomade that adds texture to the hair without weighing it down.  The feel of the product is not sticky and gives enough hold on my son’s hair without making it look oily.  It smells great too!  The packaging is fun and bright and I like that each Circle of Friends character represents a different hair type which makes shopping for products easier.

Loxa Beauty, an authorized, online beauty retailer, has partnered with Circle of Friends to bring you an amazing hair care line exclusively for children.  Purchase any Circle of Friends products from Loxa Beauty and receive a free sample of Rosa's Raspberry Shampoo when you use the code: COFSAMPLE.
