After exploring Anchorage one morning, my kids were hungry, and we decided to stop at the nearest grocery store, Carrs, for some snacks.
As soon as I stepped in and noticed the price tags on the shelves, I realized it was an Alaska counterpart to Safeway.
Even the deli had a lot of foods I'm familiar with from Safeway, and it's from the deli that we ended up getting lunch.
We got the "Carrs Double Breaded Famous Chicken" Family Meal, which consisted of 8 pieces of chicken, 1 lb of a side (we got macaroni & cheese), and 4 King's Hawaiian Rolls.
The chicken was really good! The skin was nice and crispy, and the meat tender and juicy.
It was just $16 for all of that food!
