Special Olympics Hawaii’s Tip A Cop Fundraiser Feb. 23-25

From serving our community to serving your favorite dishes, volunteer, off-duty law enforcement officers across Oahu will join forces for Special Olympics Hawaii’s annual Tip A Cop fundraiser. The event takes place Friday, February 23, through Sunday, February 25, at participating restaurants including four California Pizza Kitchen locations and two Goma Tei locations across Oahu. The fundraiser aims to raise awareness and collect donations for Special Olympics Hawaii athletes and programs. The event will take place during the following dates and times:

California Pizza Kitchen – Ka Makana Aliʻi, Kahala Mall, Kailua Town Center and Pearlridge Center

• Friday, February 23, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Saturday, February 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sunday, February 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Goma Tei – Kahala Mall and Pearlridge Center

• Friday, February 23, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Saturday, February 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sunday, February 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Pearlridge Center only) 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“We’re incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to continue to partner with such beloved restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen and Goma Tei, and for their kindness and generosity in giving back to the community and hosting us for this event,” said Special Olympics Hawaii’s Director of Development, Tracey Bender. “We hope that our supporters will come out and support our local law enforcement and all that they do for our athletes while enjoying their favorite meal – whether that’s pasta, pizza or ramen!”

Since its inception, Tip A Cop has raised $518,524 for Special Olympics Hawaii. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help Special Olympics Hawaii continue to provide year-round sports trainings and competition and health, wellness and leadership programs for over 3,400 athletes statewide with intellectual disabilities, free of charge. Since 1968, Special Olympics has been changing attitudes about the talents of people with intellectual disabilities and raising awareness to build an inclusive and unified community.
