Visit Hilo: Hilo Pizza Company

Hilo Pizza Company opened up in the former Scicchitano's Pizzeria, offering a similar menu with the same recipes, but under new management.

Build Your Own

We wanted to order the Italian Special, but they were out of key ingredients, so we built our own pizza with pepperoni, sausage, red onions, and arugula.

You can tell by the photo there was no arugula, which we were charged for.  I did email them simply to let them know, not wanting or expecting anything, and they promptly replied offering us a discount on a future order, but I declined, as I truly just wanted to inform them.

As for the pizza - it was good!  The crust could've been a bit more crisp, but overall I thought the flavors were good and the amount of toppings were good too.

Caesar
The Caesar salad was basic, but I appreciated how the elements were packed up separately to-go.

We were quoted a 20-minute pick-up time, which turned into 45.  Others were waiting a long time as well.

Despite the hiccups, I definitely see the potential once they get all the kinks worked out, and I appreciated the service and the accountability.

I look forward to trying them out again in a few weeks!
