Visit Hilo: Scicchitano's Pizzeria Revisited

Nearly a year ago I tried Scicchitano's Pizzeria for the first time.  I was underwhelmed by the experience, but knew I would give them another chance eventually, since they had just opened, and I'm sure they were still working out some bugs.

I recently did take-out twice over the past few months:
Scicchitano's Special

The Scicchitano's Special was topped with an Italian vinaigrette base, proscuitto, sopressato, Pecorino Romano, Provolone, mozzarella, red onion, and arugula.  It was a really tasty pizza, and the crust was much better this time around.

Fried Pickles

Garlic Parmesan Fries

I enjoyed the sides.  The fries were nice and crispy, and so were the pickles (my friend the thought the pickles were too crispy).

Caesar Salad

Philly Cheesesteak

Calzone

I tried the Special of the Day Calzone, which had mushrooms and sausage.  Although I thought the calzone could've used more filling, it was tasty.

Online ordering makes things easy, unless what you want to order is not offered online, in which case you'll have to call (eg I had to call in for the Philly Cheesesteak and find out what the Calzone of the Day was).

Service is super friendly, and I'm so glad these visits were much better than the first visit.  I enjoyed the food so much more!
