Visit Italy: Osteria del Leone

After a lovely wine tasting at Podere Forte, the team took us to Osteria del Leone for lunch.

We were honored to have Pasquale Forte, the founder of Podere Forte, order some amazing dishes for us.
La Panzanella croccante

Bread, butter, anchovies

Patè di fegatini di pollo sfumati al vin santo con cipolle rosse agrodolci e pan brioche

Pici di Pasta

Tagliolini di pasta fresca fatti a mano con aglietto fresco, pecorino e briciole

Everything was really good - authentic, comfort food dishes that used simple, but quality ingredients.  I absolutely loved the pastas, especially the Pici di Pasta, a hand-rolled pasta which had a nice texture to it (and all the shaved truffles only added to just how delicious the dish was).
La Pesca Melba

I was the only one who got dessert (which was not a surprise, since I've been told not many people eat sweets in Italy).  The Peach Melba was delightful - a little tart, but sweet and refreshing.  The perfect summer dessert!
