Visit Maui: SixtyTwo Marcket

I recently attended a media breakfast at SixtyTwo Marcket in Wailuku.

Ahi & Avo "Toast"

Maui Cattle Loco Moco

Signature Eggs Benedict

"Popcorn" Chicken

Paniolo Breakfast Skillet

Named after the address (62 N Market Street) and Chef Marc McDowell, SixtyTwo Marcket offers a seasonal menu that changes every sixty-two days.

I love breakfast, so even though we arrived after lunch started, I still ordered breakfast (served all day; lunch served from 10am).  I also prefer savory over sweet, so I opted for the Paniolo Breakfast Skillet.  A hash brown crust was topped with Maui Cattle brisket, oyster mushrooms, onions, cheddar, and eggs.  It was simple, but hearty, and so delish!

The "Popcorn" Chicken (lunch menu) was as fun in presentation as it was tasty.  Chunks of sweet chicken were accompanied by bits of corn-filled bubble waffles and popcorn, with some furikake butter to be drizzled on top.

The Maui Cattle Loco Moco was a table fave.  If beef is not your thing, you can also get it with ahi, fried chicken, kalua pork, or even a taro patty (I would totally get it with the taro patty next time!).

The Signature Eggs Benedict consists of Canadian bacon poached eggs atop cheddar jalapeno cornbread, and a liliko`i Hollandaise sauce.

The Ahi & Avo "Toast" is another lunch menu item.  A baguette is topped with seared ahi, local avocado cream, chili oil, and Meyer lemon zest.

I really appreciated the variety of comfort food classics and the emphasis on local ingredients.  Service was excellent, and I hope I get to return soon to try the Taro Patty Loco Moco!
