Visit Big Island: Patisserie Nanako

I've been following Patisserie Nanako on Instagram ever since they opened in the beginning of the year. This Japanese Bakery makes the loveliest desserts!

Despite being in Waimea often, I was never in the area during the shop's operating hours, or the line was too long and I didn't have time to wait.

But luckily, after having to go to the North of the island, we drove through Waimea to get back East, which meant I could finally visit Patisserie Nanako!

I arrived at 10:30am, and the line was fortunately not too long. Although there were a few items already sold out (they make only small batches of treats to ensure quality), I was happy that I got the last slice of Pumpkin Japanese Cheesecake - it was so light and fluffy, with just enough pumpkin flavor.

There is a nice offering of sweets (I really wanted to get one of each), and some savories too.  I also got:

Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar

Milk France

Turkey Pesto

Ham & Cheese

Curry Pan

You can't go wrong with a combo like chocolate + peanut butter, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar was pure bliss!

The Milk France was amazing - sweet milk buttercream in a French baguette.

Of the savories, my fave was the Turkey Pesto (I love Pesto!).

I highly recommend getting there early, as sometimes they completely sell out and close early as well.
