Congee Recipe

One of the upcoming new dishes at Naau involves the use of congee in a new way.  I ended up making some for the first time, and it turned out delicious!

I just took a cup of rinsed rice, and boiled it in 7 cups of liquid (4 cups water, 3 cups broth, but you can use either / or).  Once it reached boiling, I covered the pot and simmered on low for an hour.

The entire time, I made sure to stir the pot occassionaly to prevent sticking.

Once done, I topped with shoyu, green onions, egg, and furikake.

So warm and comforting!

  1. Instapot makes good jook

    No stirring.

Just add more broth if it's too thick.

Costco leftover chicken saves the day jook;)
