Morimoto Asia Waikiki

My good friend was visiting from New York and I wanted to take her to a new place for dinner.  I instantly thought of Morimoto Asia Waikiki since I had heard great reviews from friends.

From the hotel parking lot (off of Kuhio) it was a bit of a maze to find the entrance which is located on Kalakaua.  The restaurant and bar is on the second floor which gives diners great views of Waikiki beach.  Even better if you can make it in time for sunset.

Our server was great and gave us his top recommendations since it was our first time.  We ended up following his advice and ordered the tuna pizza, sticky ribs, Singapore curry noodles, and the ishiyaki buri bop.  We loved both the tuna pizza and the sticky ribs.  I definitely recommend starting with those dishes.  The ribs were fall off the bone soft and tender.

We also enjoyed the noodles and the ishiyaki buri bop.  The ishiyaki buri bop is prepared tableside and is a winning dish from an episode of Iron Chef.

Although I heard the chocolate sphere is a must have for dessert, we were both full and opted for their great selection of hot teas instead.  We really enjoyed our experience and I look forward to returning.
