Visit Tokyo: 8-Layer Soft Serve at Daily Chico

During our trip to Tokyo last week, I only had one MUST visit place - Daily Chico, for the 8-layer ice cream!

Located in the basement of the Nakano Broadway shopping center, it's most likely you'll see a line waiting to order the Extra Large 8-flavor ice cream cone (flavors change monthly), but don't be discouraged - the line moves quickly!

At just 490 yen, this 8-layer soft serve delight was comprised of the following flavors (from top to bottom): Strawberry, Hokkaido Melon, Soda Pop Lemonade, Caramel, Vanilla, Chocolate, Coffee Milk, Green Tea.

I saw many people standing around eating an entire 8-layer cone solo, but I shared it with my family.

Maybe, if I didn't just eat a gigantic bowl of curry just an hour earlier, I could've have finished the entire thing myself.

Maybe.

If you're not feeling up for 8 layers, you can always opt for less flavors - a small is 1-3 flavors, a medium is 2-4 flavors.

But at just 490 yen, it's hard to not just go for all 8 layers!

There is a single bench around the corner of Daily Chico to sit and enjoy your ice cream, otherwise most people just stand around the area.

That was the best 490 yen I spent the entire trip!
