Brunch at Piggy Smalls

Piggy Smalls, which opened almost a year ago, recently rolled out a brand new brunch menu, only available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am - 3pm.

I am a huge fan of Piggy Smalls, and I couldn't say 'no' when Gem suggested that we meet here for an impromptu date.  We normally have to plan our get-togethers weeks (sometimes months!) in advanced due to our busy schedules, but this time we actually planned this four days in advance, which is considered "spur of the moment" by our standards!

Our meal started with the cold smoked marlin dip, which was served with slices of green apples.

I usually do not eat dips (unless there's guacamole in it!), but I had to try it since it was delivered to us on the house, it turned out to be AMAZING.  I ended up grazing on it throughout our entire meal and even took the leftovers home so that my hubby could try it.

As anything "mochi" is trending in Hawaii's food scene, we had to try the butter mochi waffles. Gem wanted to add crispy bacon to it (+$3), which was a brilliant idea, as bacon and mochi actually go together quite well.

The milk and honey french toast was another winner!

Next time I will order it with the custard swirl. :)

Gem really enjoyed the savory dutch baby. It took about 20 minutes to make, but it was well worth the wait!

I've already got plans to go again in two weeks, since there are so many other delectable items on the menu to try.
