Koa Cafe in Ka Makana Ali`i Revisited

Koa Cafe in Ka Makana Ali`i is one of the few places open early enough for our family to eat breakfast.  While others open at 7 or 8, Koa Cafe opens at 6:30am, which is great, since my kids have no idea what "sleeping in" means (they get up at 5am on weekends).

I was really looking forward to eating the Snooze Button as I did the last time, but the menu recently changed, and the items we ordered last time are no longer on the menu.  The current menu offers pancakes, breakfast plates, omelettes, and a few other specialty dishes.
Butter Mochi Pancakes

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Kalbi & Eggs with...
Pancakes

Koa Omelette

I ordered the Koa Omelette, which was stuffed with Portuguese sausage, mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. It was very yummy!

The pancakes are huge (you can order single pancakes if you prefer). My husband really liked the Butter Mochi Pancakes.

If you order a meal with a side, you can choose from buttermilk pancakes, hapa rice, or tossed greens. If you choose pancakes, you'll get 3 huge pancakes - and you'll end up with a very big meal!

Prices are very reasonable, and even though the menu changed, we still had a great breakfast.
