Visit Maui: Bistro Molokini at the Grand Wailea

This past Friday evening our family had dinner at Bistro Molokini at the Grand Wailea.

This casual, open-air restaurant offers stunning views and delicious eats with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients.

Grilled Fish with Fruit Salad

Penne Pasta with Marinara

Peanut Butter & Jelly with French Fries

Kids meals are $12, and include a drink.  At the end of the evening, the kids were surprised with stuffed honu toys!
Onion Rings

Kalua Pork Pizza
My husband and I shared the Kalua Pork Pizza with a side of Onion Rings.

The pizza was delish - a thin crust topped with a tangy mango barbecue sauce, along with pineapple, mozzarella, red onion, scallions, and cilantro.  The crust was a lot chewier than I prefer, but the combination of the sweet and salty flavors created one very tasty pizza!

The Onion Rings were addicting!

We ended the night with a light, yet decadent Nutella Cheesecake.

Overall, service was okay.  Most of the employees were friendly and helpful, but I was a bit disappointed in our server.

First of all, he didn't even greet us.  Instead he literally walked right passed our table saying "I'll give you a little more time" as he tended to another table.  No "Hello" or "Good evening," and no introduction whatsoever.  He also forgot our kids' drinks, and when we reminded him, he returned with two drinks for our three kids, so we had to ask him for another.  We also had to ask to get our waters refilled.

Despite the service issues, the food was great, the views gorgeous, and I love how family-friendly the restaurant is.

Kama`aina discounts available.
