Kona Coffee Purveyors | b.patisserie

After checking into the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani hotel over the weekend, we decided to get an afternoon snack at Kona Coffee Purveyors | b.patisserie, which is located right next door in the new International Market Place.

Since Nat and Nadia posted photos of the Kouign Amann on Instagram, of course I had to give it a try.

Kouign Amann
Black Sesame Kouign Amann
Chocolate Kouign Amann
I tried all 3 of the Kouign Amann, and I thought they were pricey ($5.50 for the regular; $6 each for the black sesame and chocolate varieties), but all delicious.

The Kouign Amann was a super flaky (and quite messy to eat), sugary, buttery delight.  My youngest son devoured the Black Sesame Kouign Amann (he kept insisting he wanted the "chocolate one" despite me telling him it was not chocolate, but sesame!).
Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant

Chocolate Chip Cookie
The Chocolate Chip Cookie ($3.25) was as big as my kids' heads, and the Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant ($4.00) was just as huge.

There is limited seating both indoors and out, but thankfully we found a table inside the air-conditioned eatery.

The shop does offer a pitcher of water so you can quench your thirst after downing all that sugary goodness.

I'm not a big fan of pastries, so although I enjoyed the Kouign Amann, one was enough for me.  I would, however, go back to try out some of the savories.
