The day following a fun and fulfilling day volunteering at the 33rd Annual Great Waikoloa Rubber Duckie Race at Kings' Shops in Waikoloa, a fundraiser for United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii (UCPA), our group was treated to a well-deserved lunch—courtesy of UCPA.. They chose to support Fosters Kitchen, and we were more than happy to follow their lead. The decision carried extra meaning: the restaurant’s Kailua-Kona location had recently suffered a fire, and dining at their Waikoloa spot was a small but heartfelt way to show support during their recovery.
Fosters Kitchen, located right on the water, offered the perfect setting to unwind. The view was gorgeous, and the food? Absolutely excellent.
We sampled a variety of dishes, and everything hit the mark. Highlights included the bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp and grits, fish tacos, and BBQ ribs (we ordered the quarter size). Even the little ones were happy with the keiki chicken tenders and keiki cheeseburger, both of which came with a choice of sides—a nice touch that added value and variety.
One of our friends eats gluten-free, and she was genuinely impressed by how many gluten-free options were available. It’s not always easy to find accommodating menus, but Fosters made it feel effortless.
If you're visiting or staying in Waikoloa, I highly recommend giving Fosters Kitchen a try—not just for the great food, but also to support a local business that’s clearly doing things right.
