Tiki's Family Fun Center Review + Grand Opening Specials

Tiki's Family Fun Center, located in Dole Cannery Square, is the new name of the former Rascal's Family Fun Center.  Not only is the name new, but there are new owners, offering a new experience for families.

Our family was invited for a morning of fun in this 10,000 square-foot facility.

Yes - 10,000 square feet!  The exterior is a bit deceiving, as it's hard to tell that inside Tiki's Family Fun Center are arcade games, a laser tag center, a black light mini golf course, and a mini bowling alley.

The mini bowling area has 4 lanes, and mini bowling balls are used for a quick, yet exciting, 5-frame game of bowling.

The 9-hole black-light mini golf course is pirate-themed and full of cool props and obstacles.

The laser tag facility - the only one of its kind on Oahu, is equipped with the latest in laser tag gear, and was truly a blast!

After a morning of laser tag, mini golf, bowling, and arcade games, we all worked up an appetite!

We devoured a pepperoni pizza, along with nachos with chili (the chili was actually in bowls with rice, so we simply poured some of the chili onto the nachos).

The cafe also offers sandwiches, corn dogs, fried rice, and more all at reasonable prices. Soon they will be offering Rita's Italian Ice!

It would be great if there were more indoor seating, but there is plenty of outdoor seating as an alternative.

The only real drawback I found about Tiki's Family Fun Center is that there are no restrooms in the facility.  You have to request a key to the men's or women's restroom (no stalls, just a single restroom for each), and the restroom is quite a far walk from Tiki's.

Despite that, Tiki's Family Fun Center is indeed a lot of fun for the entire family, and would also be a great venue for team bonding!

Tiki's Family Fun Center offers an annual membership for $35 which includes special member pricing on all activities, discounts on food, and so much more (over a $100 value).  Tiki's also offers weekly specials, as well as birthday party packages.

There are two birthday party rooms and three birthday party packages to choose from.

Service at Tiki's was great.  The attendants were all so friendly and helpful.  When my oldest son, who has an autism spectrum disorder, was hesitant about playing laser tag due to his sensitivity with blinking lights, the employees (who had no knowledge of his diagnosis) were very patient and encouraging.   When my middle son came out of mini golf crying because he didn't play as well as his older brother, another employee comforted him and got him excited for another activity.

That's the kind of place where I would want to take my family again and again - a place where not only can we have lots of fun and eat great food, but where the employees are really kind and accommodating.

I can't wait to go back to play more laser tag with the kids (and also to try Rita's Italian Ice!).
