The Cookie Kahuna's Original Chocolate Chip Cookies

In celebration of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, I was planning to do some hands-on research and share with you my top 5 favorite chocolate chip cookies in Hawaii.  Well, as you know, life happens, and I wasn't able to complete my project as planned.  The plan was to taste 7 different cookie company's chocolate chip cookies.  I didn't get past the first cookie I tried.  Why? Because it was so good that I ate the whole bag and maxed out my appetite for chocolate chip cookies.  So now you must be wondering, which chocolate chip cookie stole my heart (and my appetite)?

It's my pleasure to introduce to you - The Cookie Kahuna a.k.a. Wally Amos's original chocolate chip cookies.

Two years ago I shared with you Wally Amos' Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookie Recipe.  Back then, Wallace "Wally Amos" went by the name "The Cookie Man".

Today, he goes by "The Cookie Kahuna" and he sells his cookies made with his original recipes and techniques on his website or at Costco.

He sells three different flavors on his website: original chocolate chip, chocolate chip pecan, and butterscotch macadamia, in 8 ounce bags for $7.99 per bag (plus shipping).  But, for just about $1 more, you can get a 16 ounce bag of his original chocolate chip cookies at Costco.

His original chocolate chip cookies are bite-sized and filled with a generous amount of mini chocolate chips. I was planning to eat just a handful and give away the rest of the bag to my husband's office, but I ended up eating them all, as they were that good (esp. when paired with a glass of milk!).

So the next time you're in the mood for chocolate chip cookies, head down to Costco and pick up a bag of The Cookie Kahuna Chocolate Chip Cookies and a gallon of milk!

  1. Great to know Wally is doing really well. I met him at a Napoleon Hill International Convention, where we both gave a talk, back in 2010. I had the pleasure of having dinner with him in the evening. He is a truly remarkable man. Bet these cookies taste awesome!

    1. In addition to being a great baker, he's also very personable as well! Lucky you got to dine with him in person! Yes, his cookies are just as amazing as ever!

  2. We are "hooked". The Cookie Kahuna is a winner! Avoid the "Famous Amoss" brand, and get The Cookie Kahuna, or you'll regret it!

  3. I could not agree more with you on this subject! I vacationed on Oahu in May and looked everywhere for The Cookie Kahuna cookies. Would not even step foot into any of the other cookie houses there. On my next to last day on the island we stopped at Costco for another piece of luggage to take our souvenirs home in and guess who we "found"! The cookie kahuna himself! We have a mutual friend on the island and so he pulled out his phone and called our friend and then taught my son the art of the kazoo! Wonderful man! Brought home 10 bags of his cookies and wish I had brought a pallet!
