As a parent, I would strongly caution you before entering Maui Specialty Chocolates with children. I made a beeline for the mochi, but my kids thought they had gone to chocolate heaven when they saw the rows and rows of chocolate-dipped goodies that lined the walls of the store. Good thing I told them beforehand they could each pick one item. I had to laugh when my five year old brought back a good sized solid dark chocolate whale while my 9 year old hands me an entire box of chocolates.
I also picked up a 5 piece pack of the peanut butter and milk chocolate mochi as well as the dark chocolate truffle mochi (each mochi has a truffle in it!). The mochi is so soft and the fillings are perfectly gooey and delicious!
Everyone recommends calling in your order because the made fresh daily mochi sells out fast! The shop is conveniently located in Kahului near the airport. They are open Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm; 10am to 2pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. Make sure you bring home some for your family and friends! They'll love you forever! ;)
