Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ - Mililani

After my first visit to a Gyu-Kaku, I was very impressed with both the food and the prices, so I was eager to dine at the recently-opened Mililani location.
Chicken Gyoza
Crispy Smoked Pork Tacos
Garlic Fries
Chicken Karaage
Cheese Wontons
My son and I decided to share a variety of appetizers, all of which were on the Happy Hour menu, with the exception of the fries.

The pork tacos were served with a yuzu salsa and sake miso sauce.  I enjoyed the contrast of the crunchy shell and tender fillings.

The gyoza was served with a cilantro lime aioli, and I thought it was pretty good.

The garlic fries were very delicious.  Although I did not think they were very garlicky, they were still super yummy, as they were topped with furikake and Japanese mayo.

The chicken karaage was delicious - my son's fave dish!

The cheese wontons - mozarella wrapped in gyoza, was okay.

My friend decided to order the Yakiniku Set, one of the lunch specials, which came with veggies, salad, rice, miso soup, chicken garlic, yaki-shabu beef sweet soy, and a beverage.

Of course we had to try out dessert.
Chocolate Pecan Turtle Cake
Bread Pudding Bites
The bread pudding bites were really good, but my friend and I both thought they would've been better with come kind of dipping sauce.

The cake was amazing.  It was so rich and decadent, and oozing with caramel in the middle.  Combined with vanilla ice cream - it was so delicious!

Service was fantastic, and I hope to go back soon with the rest of the family!
