Visit Polson: Red Lion Ridgewater Inn and Suites Polson

Our family's multi-state road trip through the Pacific Northwest took us from Washington to Montana, where for two nights we called the Red Lion Ridgewater Inn and Suites Polson our home away from home.

The family-friendly, 80-room smoke-free Red Lion Ridgewater Inn and Suites Polson, which just opened in July, was the perfect place for our family to stay while in Northwest Montana.

The lakeside community of Polson, which is located about 70 miles North of Missoula, is rich in an environment that just beckons you outdoors.

But such a modern, new hotel makes it hard to want to venture out!

From the moment we walked in, I felt welcomed by the modern, yet cozy lobby, complete with a fireplace.

After checking in, we walked down the hall to our Standard Double Queen View Room.

The neutral decor was warm and inviting, and I loved that there was a chair and ottoman, along with a table with seating for two, giving our family plenty of room to spread out.

Although there were no dressers, there was a shelf area near the television for storage.

Super comfy beds (they were raised pretty high compared to other hotels I've stayed at)
Television, Coffee Maker, Microwave, Refrigerator
Bathroom
I loved the long vanity in the bathroom, and how all the rooms come equipped with a microwave and mini fridge (nine rooms have kitchenettes).  I was impressed with the peephole cover (first hotel I ever stayed at with a peephole cover!), and the Cubietime Alarm Clock & Charger made it easy for us to charge 4 things at once without having chargers and phones all throughout the room.

Love the peephole cover!
We could see the sparkling blues of Flathead Lake from the window.

The room provided all the comforts, as well as a variety of great amenities, ideal for a two-night stay.

Red Lion Ridgewater Inn and Suites Polson offers complimentary water and coffee in the lobby, complimentary parking, complimentary Wi-Fi (which came in very handy since I had no service on my wireless carrier in Western Montana), and complimentary full breakfast.

Complimentary coffee and water in the lobby
What a great way to start the day - with a full spread of potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, pastries, fruit, and cereal.  There are also pancake and waffle stations.

After a great night's sleep on some of the most comfortable mattresses ever, we'd spend the morning in the lovely indoor dining area fueling up for the long drives to explore the outdoors.  The sundeck seating gives a gorgeous view of Flathead Lake (it was too chilly for us to sit outdside).

Other amenities include a Business Center, Fitness Center, Pool, and Hot Tub.

If we had no other plans in Montana, I would have been content to sleep in, swim in the pool, and lounge by the fireplace.

Adjacent to the Red Lion is MacKenzie River Pizza Co., and although the immediate surrounding area is still being developed, the hotel is just a very short drive to grocery stores, restaurants and shops.

And being in Polson means you are just 10 minutes away from Flathead Lake, 60 minutes away from the National Bison Range, and 90 minutes away from Glacier National Park.

Polson turned out to be a quiet, yet charming city, with some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered.

And Red Lion Ridgewater Inn and Suites Polson can be described in exactly the same way - quiet, charming, with some of the friendliest people (awesome hotel staff!) I've ever encountered.
