A Delightful Staycation at the Coconut Waikiki Hotel

The Coconut Waikiki Hotel's chic vibe and emphasis on local culture were evident during my family's recent one-night staycation at this boutique-style hotel.

The lobby's bright and lively decor was very inviting.  I love the green hues and splashes of red!

Love the colors!
At the front desk, Kia greeted me and checked me in.  He was very friendly and tremendously helpful, and after giving me the room keys, I left our car keys with the valet, and my family and I proceeded to our room.

We were generously hosted in a Coconut Executive King Suite room.

Spacious, brightly-decorated room
The spacious room included a king bed and a pull-out queen sofa-sleeper.  The room also had one-and-a-half bathrooms, a little dining table, and a kitchenette, which included a mini refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and dishes and silverware.

Dual patios gave us beautiful views of the Ala Wai and Ko`olau Mountains, as well Waikiki.

The sliding doors were difficult to open and shut, and although we couldn't see the ocean from the hotel, the views were still pretty.

The hotel has complimentary Wi-Fi, a fitness center, business center, and even a barbecue grill so guests can cook up their own meals!

A heated pool and sundeck is on site, and it's where our family spent most of the day before we checked out.

Complimentary water, tea, and coffee is served in the lobby 24 hours a day, and a complimentary continental breakfast is served daily from 6:30am to 9:30am.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to numerous restaurants and shopping venues, and famous Waikiki Beach is just blocks away.

The hotel is small - just 81 rooms, but what it lacks in size and ocean views it more than makes up for in amenities, service, and special touches.

For instance, upon entering there is a really fun chalkboard where guests can check out the weather and surf forecast, and greetings are also written (I sure felt special seeing my name on that board!).

Feeling special!
And Bosley and Bosley, Jr. were always in the lobby to welcome guests.  My kids sure loved taking pictures with them!

And I just love this fun door hanger!

Love how local pidgin is used in the sign!
I do have to give a big shout out to Kia.  He checked us in and checked us out, and almost every time I was in the lobby I observed him so pleasantly assisting other guests.  Whether it was assisting an elderly couple with options on the least expensive way to make international calls, explaining to another guest about Hawaii's constantly changing weather, or just "talking-story" with others, he was the epitome of aloha!

Our one-night staycation at the Coconut Waikiki Hotel was brief, but the excellent service, spacious room, and numerous amenities made our stay relaxing and delightful.
