Visit Phoenix: Grassroot's Kitchen & Tap

My husband often looks up places to dine whenever we travel, and one of the spots he chose was Grassroot's Kitchen & Tap.

N.O. Dirty Orzo with Smoked Brisket Sandwich

I normally eat chicken dishes, and the only chicken dish (a sandwich) on the menu didn't appeal to me, so I ended up getting the Portobello Sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. It included cheese, arugula, red onion, tomato, and mayo on sea salt focaccia. The bread alone was really good! For my side I chose Shoestring Potatoes (I like the variety of sides available, such as slaw, baked beans, and asparagus).

My husband enjoyed his sandwich and "dirty orzo."

Although Grassroot's didn't have an actual kids menu, they did have kids options, and the meals also came with fries and grilled asparagus. I also liked how they gave the kids Etch A Sketches to keep them busy while the food was being prepared.

The food was really good, and the service was great.

Kudos to the hubby for picking out a nice spot for lunch!
