Cheerios & M&M's Bars

With a lot of leftover Halloween candy (particularly M&M's) still in the house, I decided to make these Cheerios & M&M's Bars based on this recipe from Cheerios.

They were so easy to make - and no baking required!

They are very versatile too. The original recipe called for nuts, but you can add raisins, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips - just about anything! I added some ground flax seed & M&M's, and my kiddos enjoyed eating them as an after school snack!

Cheerios & M&M's Bars (recipe adapted from Cheerios)

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 c honey
  • 1/2 c creamy peanut butter
  • 3 c Cheerios™ cereal
  • 1/2 c M&M's
  • 1/3 c ground flax seed
Directions:
  • Line 9x9 pan with parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat sugar and honey for 2 minutes on high in microwave.
  • Stir in peanut butter until mixture is smooth.
  • Mix in Cheerios, M&M's & flax seed.
  • Press mixture evenly in pan.
  • Let cool for 1 hour.
  • Cut into squares.
