Spicy Ahi & BBQ

My girlfriends and I were planning to get together for dinner since one of our friends was visiting from San Francisco. Since they all lived on the leeward side of the island, we decided to meet somewhere close to where they lived. We decided to go to Spicy Ahi & BBQ in Pearl City. It has plenty of free parking and comfortable seating. It's also kid-friendly, which was a must for us since one of our friends ended up bringing her 2-month old (who slept through the whole meal).

When we first arrived, there was only one other table taken. But by the time we left, there were people outside waiting to get a table.

Many of the dinners come with miso soup and a bowl of salad. The salad comes without dressing since they have the different dressings on the table.

We all ordered combo dinners. For $14.95, you can select two items from a list of about 15 items - including....

Salmon

Udon (yum!)

Mochiko chicken (lightly battered, not greasy)

Chirashi (Sashimi on top of rice) and Shrimp Tempura

Broiled Salmon and Nigiri Sushi

Mochiko Chicken and Chicken Katsu

The portions are very generous and a couple of us had to ask for take-out boxes.

Spicy Ahi & BBQ is a great place to go if you're looking for Japanese cuisine in the Pearl City area.

  1. Looks like a great place. I saw this this afternoon and can't comment from my iPhone so I had to wait all day so I could. It made me hungry and all I could do is think about that Ahi :)
