Samuel Adams Sports Grill at Klipper Golf Course, Marine Corp Base Hawaii

If you can get onto the Marine Corp Base Hawaii in Kaneohe (the base is not open to the general public), you must visit the newly renovated Klipper Golf Course eatery - the Samuel Adam's Sports Grill. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Just head to the golf course and look for the green awning:

If you prefer air conditioning or want to catch a football game or Sports Center, grab a table in the grill. If you want to relax under the white awnings and watch the golfers practicing at the putting green or driving range, choose one of the tables outside of the grill.

The grill has an open kitchen. The menu is located on two TV screens. You'll find it hard to decide what to order because they offer everything a sports grill should offer, and more: salads, burgers, hoagies, quesadillas, buffalo wings, and daily specials, just to name a few.

Today's daily special was the BBQ chicken - half a chicken with steamed vegetables and rice for $7.95.

Here's one of my favorites - the kalua pig quesadilla - filled with onions, mushrooms, green/red peppers, and cheese on a spinach tortilla.

The garlic fries are not as good as Gordon Biersch's, but they will satisfy any garlic-lover.

A must-have is the pupu platter steak. A generous portion of grilled steak topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions.

The grill offers 5 different Samual Adam beers on tap, in addition to domestic and imported bottled beer, sports drinks, and soft drinks.

You will find yourself wanting to come back to try the other choices on the menu.
