One night we were having a difficult time finding a spot for dinner. One spot was not taking in more customers because they were closing in a few minutes; another spot was a hole-in-the-wall with no seats; another didn't allow kids; another was actually shuttered.
We kept passing by a sign for an izakaya - Mekiki no Ginji (a chain throughout Japan), during our search, and I initially did not want to go because the last time we went to a random
izakaya it was a smoking restaurant. But we finally decided to check it out since we were getting impatient and hungrier.

| Otoshi |
We started with Otoshi, which are the appetizers that are automatically given to each guest with a mandatory cover charge. The charge was supposed to be for those 20 and over, but we were actually charged for the kids too, and we didn't mind since the kids ate the food.
We grilled it ourself!
